Komodo yacht charter in April
April in Komodo: the dry season begins with green hills, calm seas and few boats
Quick answer
Is April a good time for a yacht charter in Komodo?
April is a very good month for a Komodo yacht charter and the start of the best season. Rain tapers off, seas are often glassy, visibility climbs and the hills still carry their green colour. It is one of the most underrated months: conditions are close to peak, while demand and boat traffic are far below July and August.

FAQ
Komodo in April: your questions
Is April the start of the Komodo dry season?
Yes. April is when the northwest monsoon gives way and rainfall drops sharply. The transition usually brings some of the calmest seas of the year, with light winds before the southeast trades build in May and June. Expect mostly sunny days, with the odd shower early in the month.
Is April a good month to dive in Komodo?
April is very good for diving. The water is still warm, visibility is climbing, and currents at famous sites such as Batu Bolong and Castle Rock bring big fish action. Mantas are still frequently seen in the central park. Your crew will time dives to the tides, which drive conditions more than the season does.
Do I need to arrange Komodo park access in advance in April?
Since 1 April 2026, Komodo National Park has a daily cap of 1,000 visitors. April rarely reaches the limit, but your charter team arranges park entry and rangers for every day you spend inside the park, so book through them rather than hoping to arrange it on arrival.
