Yacht Charter in Indonesia for Solo Travellers
Updated 29 October 2026 · Navélia Yacht Charters Indonesia
Short answer
Solo travellers in Indonesia have two good options: book a single cabin on a shared cabin charter, which is offered on select yachts and dates, or charter a whole small yacht for yourself, from US$1,900 per night in Komodo on a small classic phinisi. A cabin charter is the most cost effective; a private yacht gives you complete freedom of route and schedule.
Option one: a cabin charter
On a cabin charter you book one cabin and share the yacht with other guests on a fixed itinerary. It is the natural choice for most solo travellers, because you only pay for your own space and you meet like minded people on board. Departures are set in advance on select yachts, so check dates early, especially for the Komodo peak months of May to October.
Shared cabins on some yachts are twin cabins. If you want a cabin to yourself, ask whether a single supplement applies, as terms differ per yacht.
Option two: a whole yacht to yourself
Some solo travellers want total privacy, for example photographers, writers or anyone who wants to disconnect completely. The whole yacht is priced per night regardless of how many people are on board.
Chartering alone is a luxury, but it gives you complete control: you choose the anchorages, how long to stay at each dive site and when to rest. Some guests also join with one or two friends later, since the price for the whole yacht does not change.
| Yacht | Cabins | Price per night | Region |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kelana 2 | 3 | US$2,300 | Komodo |
| Lambo | 2 | US$2,700 | Komodo |
| Alexa | 1 | US$6,500 | Komodo, Sumbawa, Alor |

Where and when to go solo
Komodo is the easiest region for a first solo trip: it departs Labuan Bajo, about 1 hour 15 minutes by air from Bali, and is best from April to November. Raja Ampat departs Sorong, is best from October to April, and involves longer travel, but it is extraordinary for divers and photographers. Budget for park fees, roughly US$50 to 120 for 3 to 4 nights in Komodo or about US$120 for the Raja Ampat permit, plus gratuity.
