On a simple classic phinisi at US$1,900 per night, 4 nights comes to US$7,600 for the yacht. On Alexa, which is laid out for exactly two guests in one cabin, 4 nights is US$26,000. Senja and Sanya sit at US$6,200 per night and give you more deck space and a second cabin you can use as a dressing room or for a child.
On top of the charter fee, budget for Komodo park fees of roughly US$50 to 120 per guest for a 3 to 4 night trip, diving if you want it, alcohol, and a crew gratuity of about 10% of the charter fee.
How many nights should a couple book?
Three nights is the minimum we recommend, because the first and last days include boarding and disembarking in Labuan Bajo. Five nights is the sweet spot: it lets you see Padar at sunrise, the Komodo dragons on Rinca or Komodo, Pink Beach and the manta sites at a calm pace, with quiet anchorages away from the day boats. With 7 nights you can add Moyo and the Sumbawa coast.
If Raja Ampat appeals more, Senja and Sanya also sail there, but it is a separate trip from Sorong with its best season from October to April. Couples who want the calmest water and the most remote feel often save Raja Ampat for a second visit and start with Komodo, which is only about 1 hour 15 minutes by air from Bali.
