Komodo Yacht Charter from Bali: How It Works

Updated 29 October 2026 · Navélia Yacht Charters Indonesia

Short answer

Komodo yacht charters start in Labuan Bajo on Flores, not in Bali. From Bali you take a domestic flight of about 1 hour 15 minutes, and with a morning flight you can board your private yacht the same day. Charters run best from April to November, with 3 nights as the minimum we recommend and 5 nights as the sweet spot.

Why not sail from Bali?

Sailing from Bali to Komodo would use up several days of open water passages before you reach the national park. Flying to Labuan Bajo puts you on board within a few hours, so every night of the charter is spent among the islands, reefs and anchorages you came to see. This is how almost all private Komodo charters operate.

Flights between Bali and Labuan Bajo run several times a day. Choose a morning departure so a delay does not affect boarding, and keep the afternoon of your arrival free.

Popular yachts for Bali based travellers

Prices are for the whole yacht per night, including crew, meals and fuel for the standard route.

  • Splendour, 8 guests, US$2,490 per night, a strong value pick for friends
  • Teman, 12 guests, US$4,250 per night, popular with families
  • Kayra, 8 guests, US$7,000 per night, built in 2024
  • Celestia, 14 guests, US$13,500 per night, for a luxury group trip
  • Bhavana, 14 guests, US$15,000 per night, built in 2026

Combining Bali and Komodo

Many guests spend a few days in Bali before or after the yacht. Add a buffer night in Bali after an international arrival, and avoid booking an international departure from Bali on the morning your charter ends. Komodo park fees of roughly US$50 to 120 per guest for a 3 to 4 night charter, alcohol, diving and a crew gratuity of about 10% are extra. If you are travelling between December and March, ask us about Raja Ampat, which is in season then and departs from Sorong.

How many nights from Bali?

Three nights is the minimum we recommend, and works for a short break from Bali. Five nights is the sweet spot for most guests, with time for Padar at sunrise, the Komodo dragons, Pink Beach and manta sites at a relaxed pace. With 7 nights you can continue to Moyo and the Sumbawa coast on yachts that sail there, such as Augustine at US$4,000 per night or Jakare at US$4,900.
