Indonesia Yacht Charter Payment Terms
Indonesia yacht charter payment terms depend on the yacht, destination, booking date and charter agreement. Most private yacht charters require a deposit of 30 – 50% to confirm the yacht, with the balance due 30 – 90 days before embarkation. Final terms are always confirmed in writing before booking.
How the booking flow works
Once you have chosen a yacht and dates, we prepare a written proposal with the exact payment schedule, inclusions and cancellation terms. Nothing is confirmed until you have reviewed the proposal, signed the charter agreement and paid the deposit — at which point the yacht is blocked on the owner's calendar.
Typical payment schedule
Actual schedules vary — this is what we see most often across Indonesian phinisi and luxury yachts.
| Stage | When | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit | At contract signing | 30 – 50% of yacht fee |
| Second instalment (some yachts) | 90 days before departure | 25% |
| Balance | 30 – 60 days before departure | Remaining yacht fee |
| Extras | Onboard, trip end | Park fees, diving, gratuity, incidentals |
Currency and how you pay
USD is the default. EUR is common; Indonesian Rupiah is possible with some operators. Payments are bank transfer to the operator's business account — we do not receive or hold your funds ourselves.
Cancellation and refunds
Cancellation terms are set per charter agreement. As a rough guide, deposits are commonly non-refundable, and the balance becomes non-refundable at 30 – 60 days before departure. Some owners offer date-change flexibility instead of a strict refund — this is worth asking about at booking.
Travel insurance is strongly recommended and cannot be substituted by owner flexibility.
Force majeure and weather
Charter agreements include a force-majeure clause. In severe weather, the captain may re-route or shorten the trip for safety; refunds for lost time are not automatic and are handled per contract. We help mediate directly with the owner if this happens.
Extras paid onboard
Park fees, diving, premium wines, land tours and gratuity are usually settled onboard at the end of the trip — in cash or by bank transfer. The captain provides an itemised invoice.
