While Komodo dragons can be observed year-round on Komodo and Rinca islands, the overall yacht charter experience varies significantly by month. The right timing ensures optimal conditions for both wildlife encounters and marine activities.
Peak Season: April to November
The dry season offers calm seas, clear skies, and excellent visibility for diving and snorkeling. Dragons are most active during morning treks, and manta ray sightings peak between April and August.
Shoulder Season: March and December
Transition months offer fewer crowds and lower rates while still providing acceptable conditions. Some afternoon rain is possible, but mornings are typically clear.
Wet Season: January to February
The wet season brings unpredictable seas and reduced visibility. Many yacht operators reposition to Raja Ampat during these months, where conditions are optimal.
