Most luxury yacht charters in Indonesia are described as all-inclusive. And they largely are — covering accommodation, meals, crew, and basic water sports. However, several costs sit outside the standard charter fee, and understanding them upfront prevents surprises.
1. Fuel and Cruising Costs
Fuel is typically charged separately based on actual consumption. Longer itineraries or routes requiring significant repositioning — such as Raja Ampat charters starting from Sorong — incur higher fuel costs than compact Komodo routes.
2. Premium Alcohol
While beer and house wine may be included on some yachts, premium spirits, champagne, and fine wines are usually charged at cost or marked up modestly. Discuss your preferences with Navélia before departure to pre-stock your favorites.
3. National Park Entrance Fees
Komodo National Park and Raja Ampat Marine Park charge entrance fees per person. These are government-mandated conservation fees that go directly toward protecting the marine environment. Navélia handles the logistics but the fees are passed through to guests.
4. Crew Gratuity
Tipping is customary in Indonesian yacht charters, typically ranging from 5-10% of the charter fee. This is shared among the entire crew and reflects the quality of personalized service provided throughout the voyage.
5. Airport Transfers and Flights
Domestic flights to embarkation ports like Labuan Bajo or Sorong, plus airport-to-marina transfers, are arranged separately. Navélia coordinates all logistics but these costs are additional to the charter fee.
